An overview of Self-Care and Potluck gathering held Saturday 25th October 2025.
The Self-Care and Potluck event was a wonderful blend of relaxation, connection, and community spirit. The focus on self-care created a warm and inclusive environment where everyone felt encouraged to slow down, share, and genuinely engage with one another. The potluck element added a personal touch with a variety of dishes that reflected the diversity within our community and sparked great conversations about culture, tradition, and comfort food.
The interactive activities on reflection prompts, affirmation, and sharing circles helped participants connect on a deeper level. It was refreshing to see people open up, support each other, and exchange ideas for maintaining wellness in daily life.
Overall, the event not only promoted personal well-being but also strengthened our sense of belonging and togetherness. It reminded us that self-care isn’t just an individual act but something that grows when we care for ourselves and with our community.
Participants commented that it was indeed an inspiring day and suggested having similar
gatherings that combine meaningful themes (like wellbeing or creativity) with shared experiences such as a healthier lifestyle and stress management .
These moments clearly foster engagement, empathy, and genuine community cohesion.

A collaborative work with Brunswick Parish Church. A big thank you to Forever Manchester, S4B, Feed my City, and all of our other supporters for their help in making our vision come to life.
The Salam Sisters Association’s 6th Networking event was insightful, impactful and remarkable. We felt honored to have very important personalities in attendance to grace the occasion. It was lovely to listen to The Lord Mayor of the city of Manchester, Councillor Yasmin Dar and the Secretary General of The Muslim Council of Britain shared their personal experiences to empower the participants.
